How do I get access to DashR to create projects in the IDS?

  • Go to https://dashr.sydney.edu.au/

  • Enter your UniKey and password

  • If this is the first time you have signed in, you will need to acknowledge the Research Data Management Declaration

I have access to DashR so can I create a project in the IDS?

Yes; however, if you are not a Lead Investigator, you will need to have the project request approved by the Lead Investigator.

Note: Project requests for Lead Investigators are automatically approved.

How long can my Project ID be?

DashR limits the length of the Project ID to 20 characters.

How long do I need to wait after submitting my DashR request to see my project in IDS?

The creation of the project in IDS will take approximately 10 minutes; after the Lead Investigator has approved it (if required). This is standard processing time.

I have submitted my IDS request; however, the project is not in the IDS yet, why?

Have you waited at least 10 minutes before checking (refer to 4)?If you are not a Lead Investigator, have you had the request approved by the Lead Investigator.

I already have a project in IDS, do I need to create a DashR project?

Yes. You will have to create a DashR project with Short Code identical to your XNAT Project ID. If your Short Code is taken by another DashR project, then ICT will contact you about resolving the conflict.

I have an existing project on DashR and IDS with the same Short Code/Project ID. Do I need to do anything?

Ensure your XNAT project membership matches your DashR project membership. If your XNAT project membership does not match your DashR project membership, add or remove people from your XNAT project until its membership matches DashR.

I am the Primary Investigator in IDS, do I automatically have Lead Investigator status in DashR?

No, an academic who is set as Lead Investigator (DashR) will also be set as Primary Investigator (IDS), but an existing Primary Investigator (IDS) will not be populated as the Primary Investigator (DashR)
