Based on my conversation with @jessica.wood contact receives a soft credit in different ways: 1- They are like fundraisers they ask their friends to donate. They are not considered as donor in this case. 2- They work for a company and their company donate money. They are not considered as donors. 3- They have a found and they donate through their fund and use the receipt for tax purposes etc, in such a cases as they are the main decision maker they are considered as donor. to help ASR team to review these records, we can provide the list of the accounts and their types that originating gift comes from. for example for most of households, the related contacts are not donors. | |

Household Accounts Contacts:
Household Contact awarded with Legal Credit Amount is a Donor (regardless if funds not received, caveat: AQ has issues with GRC for voided written off gifts which still shows legal credit)
Household Contact whose Account is awarded a soft credit is a Donor
Household Contact with NO legal credit and whose Account does NOT have any soft credit is NOT a Donor
Organisation Accounts Contacts:
Organisation Contact awarded with Legal Credit Amount is NOT a Donor (TBC)? - why contacts would be directly linked to an Organisation instead of their household account? Contact should only be directly linked to an organisation if they don’t have their household account (TBC). When creating a batch gift for an Organisation, it is not possilbe to award legal credit. Therefore, these legal credits must have been adjusted at the gift after the batch has been closed (TBC).
Example:
Legal Credit has been given to a duplicate contact record which is linked to the organization instead of the one that is linked to household

Organisation Contact with Soft Credit on their Account I think should not be a donor (TBC)?. Wouldn’t it make more sense if we only allow Soft Credit to Household accounts to cascade the credit to an individual? What would be a scenario where it would be needed to Soft Credit an Organization?

Scenarios:
Matching gift:
org that matched the gift should not get "credit"
the employee who made the gift should get the "credit" for the donation and the matched gift.
Fundraisers:
Fundraisers who ask their friends to donate. They are not considered as donor in this case.
Company Donation:
Contacts who work for a company and their company donate money. They are not considered as donors.
Foundations:
People who give through their foundation and they donate through their fund and use the receipt for tax purposes etc, in such a cases as they are the main decision maker they are considered as donor.
Estate Accounts: AVE-100
Estate account primarily consist of a solicitor/executor as primary contact and the deceased contact as the secondary contact.
if contact has his own household account, we need to decide whether the contact should be directly linked to its household account or not. One contributor in AQ community says : “We create separate Accounts for the Estates, but set up an Account-to-Account Relationship (Coverer/Coveree) so that all gifts made by the Estate (also an Account Record Type of Household) gives automatic soft credit to the person's Account. The tax receipts go to the Estate, but the Donor's giving totals all sum correctly.” - zendesk post link
Estate being an organization account, by definition should not give legal credits. It can however give soft credit to a household account.
Peer to Peer Campaign
Some campaigns are organized by one contact who gets soft credited from gifts coming from this campaign but should not be considered as donor
This needs a decision on when do we consider soft credit as donor versus not a donor… Example https://sydneyuni-adv--uat.sandbox.lightning.force.com/lightning/r/AQB__Gift__c/a0s8v000000BSPGAA4/view
Clean Up Activities TAP-211
Household Contacts with legal credit should be Donors (i found 20 records to investigate/clean)
Household Contacts without legal credit
if it has a soft credit it should be donor (i found 3 records to investigate/clean)
else it should NOT be donor (i found 3,757 records to investigate/clean)
Organisation Contacts with legal credit
Corporate Contacts with legal credit should/should not be a Donor? (depending on if we count as Donor or Not, there are about 31 records to review)
Corporate Contacts without legal credit
If it has soft credit it should NOT be a donor (found 25 records to investigate/clean)
if no soft credit, it is NOT a donor (found 266 records to investigate/clean)
Update Contact Type as Donor Flow
Based on the definition of Donor, the flow that updates the contact type as donor needs to be updated.
At the moment, once a gift is created, it will tag the Contact as Donor. @Yeng Sembrano is this correct? Do you agree that we should update the flow to check the conditions as per this document before flagging the contact as donor?
