Business Logic for SITS records to be integrated to Jarvis

1 New (First Time)

Students that have graduated with a degree (not short courses).

SITS data will be pushed and ingested in Jarvis for all the awarded codes (listed below in the Award Codes table).

2 Changes (Future Updates)

Address & other contact updates (retaining the current logic) along with education record updates for various award code types will be ingested as it is from the source side (SITS).
However, we would like to capture the current award status of the degree (via text field) on the education record.

For Higher degrees like Masters, PhD's, Doctorates) : completion of all requirements.

For Higher degrees like Masters, PhD's, Doctorates) : completion of all requirements. (Eligible to graduate)

Calculated

Anyone with an AWARD.* progression outcome, but this status is temporary and does not guarantee that students will be awarded.  If the student is a potential graduand they will be awarded, if they are not a pot grad they will eventually have the calculated award removed and status updated to allow further enrolment.

After the above statuses have been confirmed, students with an EL or AW status will be updated to CF (conferred) or AC (Award conferred), which enables them to attend a graduation ceremony.

Honours

This is a special award status used by the Student Record team in case a student’s award and honours have the same title (e.g. Award: Bachelor of Music Studies, Enrolled: Bachelor of Music Studies (Honours), we update the awarded course to ‘Converted to Honours’) so they are not allocated to a ceremony and conferred.

Masters

Similarly used by the Student Records team for students who have completed a course but are “progressing to masters”

This special award status is placed on a research degree that is under examination for a example a PhD, which may take a long time before the thesis has been reviewed and passed or has to be resubmitted
