This page discusses in depth details about how to use Argus after logging in. For general overview/access of Argus and other systems, please see here.

Storage in Argus

Argus has limited space, and you should never store any information on your personal Argus desktop (i.e. do not store anything in home, documents, downloads folder in Argus).

The only places you should be storing any files for analysis is:

  1. If you are using RHEL-LRG or RHEL-SML Argus desktops, store them in /argus/PRJ-FFbigdata

Accessing this folder requires you to go through it in terminal BEFORE you are able to view it on your computer (as this folder is hidden). Follow the steps below to access:

a. Go to terminal and type in

cd /argus/PRJ-FFbigdata

b. Open up a folder (any folder) and select ‘Other Locations’ in the bar on the left hand side

c. Click on Computer/argus/PRJ-FFbigdata. (If you do not see the folder PRJ-FFbigdata, that means you have not done 'step a'.

d. You should create a folder for yourself to store your own items in.

2. If you are using RHEL-Shared Argus desktops, store them in /argus/PRJ-FFbigdata
