Please follow the steps below to get access to the Genomics facility

  1. Request training on an instrument/s via WRH PPMS or WIMR PPMS

Choose WRH PPMS for training on the following instruments:

  • QX200 Digital Droplet PCR System
  • Nanostring nCounter System
  • Agilent Tapestation 4200

Choose WIMR PPMS for training on the following instruments:

  • qPCR machines
  • Thermocyclers
  • Pre-PCR hood
  • Thermomixer

      2. Attend training and lab induction session

Once you have submitted your training request on PPMS, the Genomics Advanced Specialist will arrange a time with you for your training and induction session. At the end of the session, you will:

  • Be able to use the instrument autonomously
  • Be familiar with PC1 guidelines and how the facility operates
  • Be familiar with instrument booking, data management and safety policies
  • Be familiar with building evacuation procedure and closest emergency exits to the facility

The Covaris Evolution is located in a PC2 lab (J2.06), so PC2 guidelines apply for using this instrument. You will be granted access to this lab once training and induction are complete.

     3. Sign and return training record form

Once training and induction is complete, you will receive a training record form by email. Please complete, sign the form and email it back to the Genomics Advanced Specialist for approval. Once approved, your swipe card will be activated for the Genomics facility labs.
