NCI Gadi HPC

National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) provides high performance computing (HPC), cloud computing, and data services to Australian researchers. USyd will provide in-kind access to researchers to NCI’s Gadi HPC through the Sydney Scheme.

What is Gadi?

NCI Gadi is one of Australia’s most powerful supercomputers, designed to support advanced computational research.

Conditions of use

All users of NCI agree that they will keep themselves informed of, and comply with, all relevant legislation and The Australian National University policies and rules.

All users must acknowledge and understand that a breach of these will result in not only a loss of access to NCI resources but the user may be subject to Federal criminal prosecution resulting in fines and/or gaol legislated under the Acts listed on the conditions of use and policies page.

Access

You need to create a user account on NCI and be added to an approved NCI project. See further information on the Sydney Scheme.

Allocations for future quarters

Unlike other Schemes through which you may have accessed NCI (e.g. NCMAS) the allocation you request for the current quarter is not automatically applied to future quarters.

To ensure continuity of service units on your project across quarters, please request these ahead of time. You can request allocations for the current and next quarter via the Sydney HPC Allocation Scheme portal (Please make sure you are connected to the VPN if accessing the portal away from the University network):
