Supported platforms

Researchers at USyd have access to an ecosystem of tools for managing research data. These have been selected in line with the Research Data Management Policy 2014. This includes:

Centralised network drive to store digital research data.

OneDrive/SharePoint

Cloud storage environment integrated with the Office365 tool suite.

Highly Protected SharePoint

Cloud storage environment integrated with the Office365 tool suite, specifically configured for highly protected data.

Local storage

Laptops, desktops, USB drives. These devices are not suitable for primary storage location for research data.

Data storage for research computing

The Research Data Store (RDS) is the centrally managed platform for securely storing and collaborating on research data. It is integrated with the university’s digital research infrastructure and is administered by ICT.
