Artemis Live Statistics

What do the Artemis Live Statistics mean?

The above Artemis Live Statistical Tables and Graphs represent data and metrics based on the number of "jobs" that have been submitted to utilise the available "cores" in the various "queues" by researchers on Artemis at a given interval or time period.

The data, metrics and information displayed by the suite of Live Statistical Tables and Graphs also explains the status of these jobs – whether the jobs are queued, running, held or waiting – and the status of the cores required to run these jobs in the various queues – available, busy, free or down on Artemis at a given interval or time period.

What information does the Artemis Live Statistics provide?

Artemis Live Statistics provides up-to-date, relevant and accurate data and metrics on the activity of Artemis.

These statistics aim to give researchers an up-to-date "snapshot" of the activity on Artemis over a given time period.

What date is used to compile the Artemis HPC Live Statistics Tables and Graphs?

Artemis ‘Live’ Statistics incorporates data and metrics from 6 January 2017 and onwards. New data are added every 10 minutes.

Who do I contact if I have an enquiry or issue?

If there is no data displayed on this page, or the data is incorrect, log a request for assistance via the Services Portal.

How can suggestions to add any additional graphs/tables to the existing suite be made?

Any suggestions or recommendations to add additional tables and graphs can be submitted via the Services Portal.

What does the graph – "Cores hrs Queued vs Running by Job" mean and how is it calculated?

The "Cores hrs Queued vs Running by Job" graph, is calculated as follows:

  • the "Cores hours Queued" is the sum of the core hours requested over all the queued jobs in Artemis at that point in time.

The "Cores hours Running" is the sum of the cores hours requested over all running jobs in Artemis at that point in time.

The graphs show that there are cores available in a queue(s), why am I unable to submit my own job(s)?

The graphs may display data indicating that a certain queue(s) on Artemis has available cores, however these cores might be allocated and available within an Artemis queue(s) which are restricted by various "Queue Resource Limits".

These restrictions may limit the accessibility to an Artemis queue(s), due to reasons such as the following:

  • The Artemis queue(s) have a specified maximum number of jobs that each user can only submit within that queue(s), and that designated limit has been reached.

The Artemis queue(s) are configured to only be accessible to users who are a member of a certain group(s) or project(s). Users who are not a member of these groups or projects are therefore unable to submit a job through these Artemis queues.
