Training Request on PPMS

For any training requests to access and use the facility equipment please submit a training request:

New user trainings are held on the second and fourth Thursdays of the Month. Other types of training will be arranged within 2 weeks of training request submission.


Flow Analyser Training


This training is a charged 2 hours face-to-face session covering:

  • Flow cytometry laboratory induction and safety
  • Components and how a flow cytometer works
  • Workflow to run an experiment focusing on BD FACSDiva software


It will grant you access to:

  • BD FACS Canto II
  • BD LSR II
  • BD LSRFortessa

Cytometer Configurations


FACSymphony Training

This is a charged 30 min face-to-face training session.

To gain access to the FACSymphony, you will also need to complete the basic flow analyser training first.

GentleMACS Training

This is a charged 30 min face-to-face training session. 

AutoMACS Training

This is a charged 30 min face-to-face training session.

Cytoflex Training

This is a charged 30 min face-to-face training session.

AriaIII Training

Cell sorting is normally provided as a service. However if you plan to perform cell sorting after hours, you can request to be trained on the AriaIII.

This is a charged 3 x 2 hours face-to-face training session covering:

  • AriaIII instrument setup
  • Principles of cell sorting
  • Experimental setup to sort your target population
  • Safety procedures during a sample clog
