Requesting Training

If you are a PhD student or researcher, please complete a training form on PPMS:

Once your request has been submitted, we will arrange a training session for you within 2 weeks.


Training for Honours Student

If you are an honours student, the cytometry laboratory induction & flow cytometry training session should be part of your course work.

You only need to complete the following two forms and submit to westemad.cytometry@sydney.org.au

Flow Analysers Training

The basic analysers training will grant you access to:

  • BD FACS Canto II
  • BD LSR II
  • BD LSRFortessa

It will be a 2-3 hours face-to-face training session covering

Once training is completed, you will need to pass an online competency quiz to gain office hours access:

Afterhours access can be granted after 10 hours of experience or, if needed earlier, upon completion of an autonomous access online quiz:

FACSymphony Training

To gain access to the FACS Symphony, you will need to complete the basic analyser training first.
