Training Request on PPMS

For any training please submit a training request:

Once you submit your request, we will arrange a training session for you within 2 weeks.


Training for Honours Student

If you are an honours student, the cytometry laboratory induction & flow cytometry training session should be part of your course work.

You only need to complete the following form and submit to westemad.cytometry@sydney.org.au

Flow Analysers Training


This training is a charged 2 hours face-to-face session covering:

  • Flow cytometry laboratory induction and safety
  • Components and how a flow cytometer works
  • Workflow to run an experiment focusing on BD FACSDiva software


It will grant you access to:

  • BD FACS Canto II
  • BD LSR II
  • BD LSRFortessa

AriaIII Training

Cell sorting is normally provided as a service. However if you plan to perform cell sorting after hours, you can request to be trained on the AriaIII.

This is a charged 3 x 2 hours face-to-face training session covering:

  • AriaIII instrument setup
  • Principles of cell sorting
  • Experimental setup to sort your target population
  • Safety procedures during a sample clog

FACSymphony Training

To gain access to the FACS Symphony, you will need to complete the basic flow analyser training first.
